For the sun peaking over the trees
\nand children rushing to meet the school bus
\nand Mr. Don who will drive them safely
\nand a second-grader who forgot her lunchbox;<\/p>\n
For my little dog, tagging all he surveys,
\nand all his friends who come over for a sniff
\nand the rain lilies that popped up
\nafter a much needed downpour;<\/p>\n
For the girl with high-school-senior anxiety
\nand the retired couple out for their morning walk
\nand the family who lost their dad last year
\nand the toddler cawing at the morning birds;<\/p>\n
For the hectic start and a calming walk
\nand reminders of the fullness of life
\nall around the block
